Welcome, Viasat COBRA Members!
Your Benefits,
Still With You.
Viasat has partnered with Igoe Administrative Services to make sure you have every resource, guide, and answer you need to navigate your COBRA coverage — from Open Enrollment to ongoing administration.
What is COBRA?
COBRA (the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) is a federal law that gives you the right to continue your employer-sponsored health coverage after a qualifying event — such as a job separation — for up to 18 months.
As a Viasat COBRA participant, you have access to the same plans active employees have, at the group rate. You’re responsible for the full premium (your share + the employer share, plus a 2% administrative fee).
Igoe has administered COBRA on behalf of Viasat to make sure your transition is smooth, your notices are timely, and your questions are answered by real people who know your plan.

COBRA Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? You’re in the right place. Browse the topics below for answers to common COBRA questions, guidance on your plan features, and more. And if you’d rather talk it through with a real person, our team is always just a call or email away.
When does my coverage start?
COBRA coverage is retroactive to the date your previous coverage ended — so there’s no gap in coverage if you elect and pay in time.
How long do I have to elect?
You have 60 days from the date of the election notice (or the date coverage ended, whichever is later) to elect COBRA.
Can I add or change plans during Open Enrollment?
Yes! COBRA participants can make new plan elections during the annual Open Enrollment period, even without a separate qualifying event.
What happens if I miss a payment?
There is a 30-day grace period for monthly premium payments. If payment is not received by the end of the grace period, your coverage will terminate. It cannot be reinstated.
Can I cover my dependents?
Yes — eligible dependents who were on your plan when coverage ended may elect COBRA independently or along with you.
What role does Igoe play?
Igoe is a COBRA and premium billing administrator, not an insurance carrier. We’re hired by employers to make sure they follow the rules and have a partner focused on giving their COBRA and premium billing members the help they need.
- We don’t decide how much these benefits cost. The costs reflect the full retail value of the plans (and in some cases a small administrative fee called the 2% COBRA administrative fee).
- We don’t get to determine the timelines or payment rules. Those are governed by law for COBRA and by the employer for premium billing programs.
- We DO help you understand how to navigate these benefits and are passionate about doing so.
We're Here When You Need Us
Our COBRA team answers calls in under 3 minutes on average. Whether you have a question about your plan, your payment, or just need help navigating the portal — we’re a call or email away.
